About La Leche League
The LLL Mission
La Leche League International strives to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information, and education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and mother.
The LLL Philosophy
The basic philosophy of La Leche League is summarized in the following statements:
There are multiple benefits of
breastfeeding available for both mothers and babies, but did you know that
becoming an LLLL member can enhance those benefits? Mothers who are members
of LLL breastfeed longer because they have the information, education,
support, and encouragement they need to enjoy the experience. At $25 membership
in LLL is a real bargain when you consider the costs of not
breastfeeding! You may also make a donation of any amount, even $5 can really help your local group support local mothers.
